Window Repairs
Whatever the problem, we can either repair the existing
or supply and fit new mechanisms:
- Hinges
- Restrictor hinges (they only allow a window to open a certain distance). It’s a good safety mechanism if you have children, however child casement restrictors are an equally good but cheaper alternative.
- Egress hinges (these open 90 degrees for perfect fire escape requirements) – they also have the function of allowing the casement/ sash to slide over halfway thus allowing easy access for external glass cleaning. This is extremely handy if the window is inaccessible, i.e. if an extension or conservatory is below to stop ladder access and also for flats.
- A combination of both, i.e. a restrictor egress hinge, which allows all of the above!
- Espag locks/ gearboxes – faulty window locks are one possible reason why your window may have completely seized shut. We can get your window open and get it replaced!
- Handles – Espag and Cockspur (including wedges)
- Even if the handles are not broken you could either update them for a more modern look or change the colour to tie in with internal room accessories, for example a new chrome handle to match the light fittings.
- Rubber gaskets

- Springs to vertical sliders
- Missing window keys

Service Work
As a specialist double glazing repair company we cannot stress the importance of service work enough. If this service is carried out fairly regularly from installation (i.e. once yearly), it will extend the shelf-life of your products. When we service windows/doors we lubricate the mechanisms and carry out any basic adjustments, for example tightening of screws, Espag cams, moving keeps etc.
We recommend service work on windows/ doors which are becoming difficult to use but are not yet broken.
